What’s the Point of Prediction if I Can't Change the News?
A client once asked me: "If you predict I’ll go bankrupt next year, and I can't stop it, what’s the point? All I’ve gained is a year of insomnia."
It’s a valid question. Why do we predict? My answer is simple: **Prediction isn't about stopping the rain; it's about bringing an umbrella.**
Metaphysics as Ancient Big Data
Our ancestors didn't have satellites, but by watching clouds, they could predict the weather. That was the original "Big Data." Metaphysics is the same—a cumulative model of human behavioral patterns spanning thousands of years. Just as a weather app tells you when a storm will pass, a natal chart tells you when a peak period or a thunderstorm is arriving.
Strategic Actions Based on "Signals"
In Zi Wei Dou Shu, we use "Four Transformations" as our weather signals:
- **Hua Ji (The Storm Warning):** If this hits your Wealth Palace, it’s winter for your cash flow. Don’t "bet big" to recover. Instead, consolidate, save, and focus on internal training. Put on your "coat."
- **Hua Quan (The Sun/High Energy):** Now the sun is out, and your fuel is full. If you stay home and "lay flat" now, you're wasting potential. This is the time to compete and gain territory.
The True Goal: Composure
To the client’s question: If you know financial pressure is coming, you don't cry; you act. You downsize non-essential assets, re-evaluate partners, and prepare for the worst Case. **When the rain finally falls, you are the one in a raincoat with an umbrella, walking calmly while others are drenched.**
